Epistêmê is an interdisciplinary bilingual online journal that publishes exceptional undergraduate and graduate papers from the social sciences and humanities. Housed in the English Department at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, this journal provides a space for students to express and foster ideas that mirror their academic performance and interest in pursuing higher levels of education and research.
Students submitting research papers to Epistêmê must read the following guidelines before sending their work:
- Only one submission per student. Research papers should focus on the disciplines within the Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, History, Political Sciences, Pedadogy, Linguistics, Anthropology, Media Studies, Economy, Physical Education, Human Geography) or Humanities (e.g. Art, Philosophy, English, Hispanic Studies, Foreign Languages, Film, Comparative Literature, Performance Studies, Religious Studies, Cultural Studies).
- The minimum number of pages is ten (10), there should be no more than twenty-five (25).
- Papers must be doubled spaced, with 1" margins, and 12” Arial font.
- File formats of students’ papers should be .doc or .docx only; .pdf formats will not be accepted.
- A cover letter must be attached with the submission including name, major, educational institution or affiliation, year of study, contact information (e-mail and phone number), current mailing address, and a 250 word abstract of the text.
- Students are welcome to submit papers in either Spanish or English.
